Read together
In the stillness of the night,
A little bird took flight,
With twigs and leaves in its beak,
It worked hard, not feeling weak.
It built a nest up high,
In a tree that touched the sky,
And when the job was done,
It sat on its nest, feeling fun.
But the bird was not alone,
For it had little ones to hone,
So it flew to the ground below,
To find some nuts to stow.
Its nose twitched as it searched,
For some nuts that weren't too perched,
And soon enough it found,
Some tasty nuts lying on the ground.
With the nuts in its beak,
It flew back to its little peak,
And fed its chicks with care,
For the little birds needed a nurse to share.
And as the night drew near,
The little birds felt no fear,
For they were safe and warm,
In their nest, away from harm.
So let this story be a lesson,
Of love, care, and attention,
For a little bird's hard work,
Ensures its family doesn't shirk.
