In front of the window, so bright and so wide,
Stood a vase with a flower, with petals inside,
The flower was lovely, with colors so true,
And the vase was so pretty, with stripes of blue.
But the vase was so fragile, so careful we'd be,
When we moved it around, we'd hold it with glee,
For one careless drop could shatter the vase,
And then the pretty flower would lose its place.
We wanted to show all our friends the flower,
And how it looked in the vase, hour by hour,
So we'd hold it up high, with great pride,
And take extra care, so it wouldn't collide.
Now the flower still blooms, with colors so bright,
And the vase still stands, with stripes of blue and white,
So we remember to be careful, with things that we hold,
And always show the beauty, that never grows old.
