The Adventures of Curious Kids: Exploring the Great Outdoors

Come with me, my little friends,
And let's explore the world outside,
We'll start by looking down below,
At the grass where we can hide.

Next, we'll walk around the front,
And see the flowers in full bloom,
Then turn around and look at the back,
Where we can see the birds zoom.

Inside, we'll find a cozy spot,
Where we can sit and read a book,
And if we get a little hot,
We'll go outside and take a look.

If we lay down on our back,
We can watch the clouds go by,
Or climb up to the top of a hill,
And see the world from up high.

We can jump and run from side to side,
And feel the wind in our hair,
Or swing on a tree branch up above,
And feel like we can fly anywhere.

So come on, let's explore together,
And see what wonders we can find,
We'll have so much fun and adventure,
With our curious hearts and open minds.

Reflections

Here are some questions that kids can think about related to the poem:

  1. What are some things you can see when you look outside?
  2. What is your favorite thing to do when you explore nature?
  3. Have you ever laid down and watched the clouds go by? What did you see?
  4. Why do you think it's important to explore the outdoors?
  5. What can we learn from exploring nature?
