An Imaginative Walk with Children

Come children, let's take a walk,
And chat as we work and talk,
But when we see the stop sign,
We'll stop and make sure we're fine.

Now let's run and feel the breeze,
And pretend we're super speed,
But when we hear the car drive,
We'll slow down and keep alive.

We'll go and follow the stream,
And see where it takes our dream,
And if we find a pool to swim,
We'll jump right in and let loose our vim.

Then we'll play and think some more,
And learn new things that we adore,
Maybe we'll even learn to fly,
And soar through the clouds up high.

But as the day begins to end,
And the sun sets round the bend,
We'll head back home with tired feet,
And rest our heads to sleep so sweet.

Reflections

  1. What should we do when we see the stop sign while taking a walk?
  2. What should we do when we hear a car while pretending to be super speed?
  3. What might we learn or discover while following the stream on our walk?
