Read together
Once upon a time, in a land far away,
Lived a young boy named Jay.
He was brave and strong, with a heart of gold,
And loved to explore, both new and old.
One day, while out on a walk,
Jay stumbled upon a branch, that he thought he'd talk.
He picked it up and began to play,
Using it as a sword, to fight off his foes that day.
As he walked on, he noticed a bird's nest,
High up in a tree, where it could rest.
The nest was made of bread and twigs,
And it made Jay think of his own little digs.
He had a box that he kept his toys in,
And a bottom drawer where his clothes would spin.
But he realized, with a pang of sorrow,
That he had nothing to drink, not even a bottle to borrow.
So he searched and searched, and finally found,
A bowl of water, left on the ground.
He took a sip and felt so refreshed,
And continued on his journey, feeling his best.
And that's the story of Jay, the boy so bold,
Who found a branch, a bird's nest, and more to behold.
He learned to take breaks, to rest and to drink,
And that's how he was able to explore and not sink.
Talk about it
