Early Bird's Work and Play

Once upon a time, in the early morn,
A little bird woke up before dawn.
It fluttered its wings and flew with ease,
To the east, where the sun would soon rise.

The bird searched for an egg to eat,
And found one that looked quite neat.
But it knew it had to earn its treat,
So it searched for worms with its beak.

Each worm it found, it ate with delight,
And it knew it had to work with all its might.
For with effort and hard work, it had learned,
Comes the effect of a belly full and well-earned.

The bird thought about its education,
And how it learned to find sustenance with dedication.
It knew that to survive on this earth,
One had to work hard from an early birth.

So it flapped its wings and took to the sky,
With its little ear pressed to the wind as it passed by.
For the bird knew that with each new day,
There was a new lesson to learn and easy prey to slay.
