The Adventures Beyond the Garden Gate

Come and play a game with me,
Outside in the garden, you'll see.
We'll have lots of fun, just wait and see,
Through the gate, come follow me!

A gentleman we'll meet today,
He's the general, leading the way.
With a gift for each and every one,
Our adventure has only just begun.

In the garden, we'll skip and run,
Playing games and having fun.
We'll get our hands dirty, don't you know,
But that's the best part, don't be slow!

So let's enjoy this beautiful day,
With our new friends and games to play.
Through the gate, we'll explore and see,
Just how much fun a garden can be!

Reflections

  1. Where did the adventure take place in the poem?
  2. Who did the children meet in the garden, and what did they bring as a gift?
  3. What games did the children play in the garden, and why did they enjoy them?
  4. What did the children do beyond the gate, and how was it different from the garden?
  5. Why do you think the poem encourages children to explore and have fun outside?
