Summer Fun with Friends

Once upon a time, let me tell you a tale,
Of a hot summer's day that felt like a sail,
An hour went by as they played in the sun,
And then it was time for some rest and some fun.

They went to a hotel with rooms oh so grand,
But all they wanted was to build castles on sand,
So off they went to their own little house,
And played and laughed with a smile on each mouse.

As they played, a horse came galloping by,
And the kids were amazed, they couldn't help but sigh,
But then they realized they were getting quite hungry,
So they decided to go and find something yummy.

They went to a hospital, where the food was so good,
And ate a hundred cookies, as much as they could,
Then they thought about what the future may bring,
And hoped for great things, like the sound of a bird's wing.

As the day came to a close, they wondered and pondered,
And asked themselves "how could this day be any better?"
But then they realized that they had each other,
And that made them happy, just like a mother.

So they went to bed, with dreams in their head,
Of all the great things that lay ahead,
And as they slept, they dreamed with glee,
Of the adventures they would have, just wait and see.

Reflections

  1. What are some of the fun things the kids did on their summer day adventure?
  2. How did the kids feel when they saw the horse galloping by?
  3. Where did the kids go to find something to eat when they got hungry?
  4. What did the kids dream about as they went to bed?
  5. Why did the kids feel happy even though they didn't stay at the fancy hotel?
