The Adventures of the Curious Explorer

Come along children, let's gather around
And listen closely to the words we've found
We have some special words to share today
So let's explore them in a fun-filled way

First, we have "produce", which means to grow
And create things that help us to glow
Fruits and veggies, fresh and ripe
Are the best things we can put in our pipe

Next up is "proper", which means to do
Things the right way, through and through
We must be careful, and pay attention
To make sure we're doing things without any tension

"Problem" is a word we sometimes face
When we encounter an obstacle in our race
But don't you worry, there's always a way
To solve the issue and have a brighter day

"Promise" is a word that we should keep
It means to stay true, and never cheat
When we make a promise, we should always follow through
And do the things we said we would do

"Public" is a word that means for all
To share and enjoy, both big and small
We must be kind and treat everyone with respect
And make sure no one is left behind, or neglected

"Protect" is a word that's really important
It means to keep things safe and sound, and prevent
Harm from coming to the things we love
Like our family, friends, and the things above

Finally, we have "provide", which means to give
Help and support to those who need to live
A life that's happy, healthy, and bright
And to make sure they have everything they need, day and night

So children, let's remember these words we've learned
And use them every day, in all we do and yearn
To grow up to be strong, brave, and true
And to be the best versions of me and you.

Reflections

Here are a few questions to ask kids to help them think about the poem:

  1. What does the word "produce" mean, and can you name some fruits and vegetables that are produced on a farm?
  2. Why is it important to do things properly, and can you think of an example of something that needs to be done properly?
  3. What is a problem, and can you think of a time when you had to solve a problem?
  4. What does it mean to make a promise, and can you think of a promise that you have made to someone?
  5. Why is it important to be kind and respectful to everyone in the public, and can you think of a way to show kindness to someone?
  6. What does it mean to protect something, and can you think of something that needs to be protected?
  7. Why is it important to provide help and support to others, and can you think of a way to provide help to someone who needs it?
