A Day in the Life of a Curious Cat

Think, little one, think,
About a thick, furry mink,
A friendly creature, never a threat,
It loves to play and never fret.

But those who are unkind,
May harm the mink, so keep in mind,
This is why, therefore,
We must respect and adore.

These precious creatures that we see,
Living wild and happy, and free,
So think of them, and what they bring,
To our world, a wonderful thing.

There's more to learn, as you grow,
About the world, and all you'll know,
For though it may seem a big thing,
You'll understand, in the third spring.

So, for now, let's appreciate,
All that we have, before it's late,
Thin or thick, big or small,
Each thing has value for us all.

  1. What is the mink like in the poem, and how should we treat it?
  2. What does the poem encourage us to do when we see animals in the wild?
  3. What are some of the things we can learn about the world as we grow older?
  4. Why is it important to appreciate all living things, no matter how big or small?
  5. How does the poem make you feel about the world around you?
