Come, gather 'round, all ye young sailors,
And hear a tale of adventure and labor!
Of latitude and longitude we'll speak,
And the journey of a landlubber who became a seafaring freak!
Aye, once there was a lad named Jack,
Who dreamed of sailing on a mighty track.
He practiced tying knots with a lanyard,
And climbed up a ladder to the roof's vantage.
But he was a landlubber, born and bred,
And his parents thought him better off instead,
Learning to till the soil and sow the seed,
Than risking his life on a ship that could sink and bleed.
Yet, Jack was determined to see the world,
And so he set sail, with his sails unfurled.
He braved the storms, and crossed the equator's line,
Till he made a landfall, in a land so fine!
He saw the wonders of the sea and sky,
And learned to navigate by the stars up high.
He befriended whales, and dolphins too,
And heard the songs of mermaids, clear and true.
And when his journey came to an end,
And he sailed back to his hometown, my friend,
He was no longer a landlubber, but a sailor brave and true,
Who knew the secrets of the ocean, and all its hues!
So, young ones, heed this tale of Jack,
And don't be afraid to follow your own track.
For even if you start as a landlubber,
You too can become a sailor, with courage and fervor!
