The Watchful Yeoman and the Wharf

In a yard by the wharf so wide,
A yeoman stood by his winch with pride,
He watched the boats as they came and went,
And saw the waves with their constant descent.

He used his winch to pull the wire,
And keep the boats safe from the mire,
He'd wake up early every day,
And make sure the boats were all okay.

Sometimes the boats would yaw and turn,
But the yeoman never seemed to burn,
He'd always keep a watchful eye,
And make sure the boats wouldn't die.

So if you're ever by the sea,
And you see a yeoman like he,
Remember all the work he's done,
To keep the boats safe, one by one.
