In the fields and in the wood,
Animals roam where they should.
Some are big, some are small,
And we can name them all!
There's a deer with antlers tall,
Venison's the meat we call.
A turkey with feathers so bright,
We'll eat it on Thanksgiving night.
A shaggy yak with fur so thick,
We won't eat this one, that's the trick.
A quail that's small and brown,
We'll have it on a salad crown.
A bunny with its floppy ears,
We'll eat rabbit without any fears.
And lastly, a veal that's young,
We'll cook it right and get it done.
So many animals, so much meat,
But we'll use it all and nothing's left to beat.
Let's remember to say a prayer,
And show our thanks for what's prepared.
What are some animals mentioned in the poem, and what kind of meat do we get from them?
