The Lost Key Adventure

In the world of shapes and lines,
There are terms you must know to define.
Let's start with the cevian,
A line segment from vertex to opposite edge, span.

The centroid is where the cevians meet,
Dividing the triangle into three equal beats.
A chord is a line connecting two points,
On the circumference of a circle, it appoints.

An angle is where two rays meet,
Its measure is in degrees and so neat.
The bisector splits an angle in two,
Equal halves, that's its value true.

The apex is the highest point on a shape,
Like a mountain peak or a triangle's cape.
An axis is a line around which something spins,
Like a top or a wheel, it always wins.

Area is the space within a shape,
The amount of surface it can make.
Altitude is the distance from the top to the base,
A perpendicular line that you can trace.

The base is the bottom of a shape,
Like a square, a rectangle, or a trapeze's nape.
The center is the point in the middle,
Of a circle or a square, it's not a riddle.

Finally, the abscissa is a point on a graph,
It's the horizontal value you need to have.
So, remember these terms and use them well,
In the world of shapes and lines, they will always excel!
