The Journey of a River

Come gather 'round and listen close
To a tale of water and its flows
A river runs through fields and hills
Its journey brings it many thrills

It starts as a rivulet small and fine
Trickling down a steep incline
It meanders through the countryside
And gathers friends along its ride

A reservoir it meets one day
Where water's stored and held at bay
But on it goes with strength and might
Towards the sea, where it takes flight

Along the way, it hits some rapids
Where water churns in wild antics
A reef it passes, full of life
With creatures great and small alike

And when it reaches the salty sea
It stops and takes a moment to be
To think of all the friends it's made
On its journey, through sun and shade

So if you see a river run
Remember all the joy and fun
It brings to all who live nearby
And the adventures that it'll supply.
