Title: The Child and the Creatures of the Earth

Once upon a time, in a place not far from here,
Lived a happy little child, with nothing left to fear.

One day on a walk, the child met a bear,
But instead of running away, they stopped to stare.

The bear was friendly, and led the child to a pond,
Where a deer and a frog were playing, and having fun.

A busy little bee buzzed by, on its way to a flower,
While a wriggly worm wriggled by, in search of a shower.

And in the water swam a fish, so shiny and bright,
Living its life without a care, day and night.

The child realized that all these creatures, big and small,
Were all living their lives, just like the child after all.

So they decided to live in harmony, and share the earth,
And appreciate all living beings, for all their worth.

And so, the child and the animals all lived happily,
Enjoying the world, together in harmony.

Reflections

Here are a few questions to ask kids to think about the story:

  1. What animals did the child meet on their walk?
  2. How did the child feel when they met the bear?
  3. What did the child learn from the animals they met on their walk?
  4. How did the child decide to live in harmony with the creatures of the earth?
  5. Why is it important to appreciate and respect all living beings?
