Read together

Once upon a time, there was a kitten,
Whose age was only one and not written.
She lived with a family of seven,
And their love for her was like heaven.

The family had kids, all young and sweet,
A group of five, who loved to play and eat.
They would often chase the kitten around,
And the little one would never make a sound.

One day, the kids decided to explore,
A game they had never played before.
They drew a circle, one, two, three, four,
And said, "Let's see who can jump the floor."

The kitten watched as they began to play,
Hoping that she could join in someday.
But for now, she watched the numbers spin,
Hoping that the game would soon let her in.

The kids jumped in and out of the line,
Six, five, four, three, two, one, every time.
And when they finished, they all agreed,
That the kitten should have a turn indeed.

So they picked her up and held her high,
And let her jump as high as the sky.
She landed in the circle with glee,
And meowed with joy, as happy as can be.

And so the game of numbers and fun,
Brought together kitten and kids as one.
They played and laughed till the day was done,
And the kitten slept soundly, her day well won.

  3. How did the kitten feel when the kids let her join in the game?
  4. What was the final outcome of the game?
  5. What lesson can we learn from the story about including others in our playtime?
