Journey to School

School is a place we go to learn,
Where we sit in seats, pages we turn.
But before we enter, we stop at the door,
To wave goodbye to parents and friends once more.

We walk down the steps, and onto the street,
Towards the bus stop, where we'll take a seat.
The bus pulls up, we climb aboard,
And take a window seat, we can't be ignored.

We gaze out the window as we drive down the street,
And see all the sights, it's quite a treat.
We pass by a bench where people rest,
And see kids walking, they're doing their best.

We arrive at school, and walk through the door,
To start our day of learning, and so much more.
But we'll always remember the journey we took,
On the bus, past the bench, with every step we took.
