Read together

In the morning when you rise,
The day is full of surprise.
You have your breakfast, brush your teeth,
And get dressed up real neat.

Then it's time to go to school,
Where you'll learn and follow rules.
The day goes by, you're busy, yes,
But lunchtime brings a bit of rest.

You eat your sandwich, drink your juice,
And rest your feet, which is good news.
You wiggle your toes and feel the air,
And smile because you're almost there.

Then it's time to catch the bus,
And you watch the world go by with us.
A bird sings its sweet tune,
And you spot a bug just before noon.

As the bus rolls on, you start to doze,
And dream of playing with a rose.
The bus stops and it's time to go,
But you'll remember the bird and bug, you know.

Talk about it

Reflection

  1. What did the child do to get ready for school in the morning?
  2. How did the child feel during lunchtime?
  3. What did the child see while riding on the bus?
  4. What did the child dream about when they were dozing off on the bus?
  5. Why is it important to take a moment to rest and wiggle your toes?
